Arkua 648N-6B Heatsink From All Angles
The Fan:
A very thin 10mm thick 60mm fan is used on the 648N-6B and not much more is really needed to penetrate the 14mm tall extruded aluminum fins. Below the fan motor, the heatsink is recessed by about 6mm. The fan is connects to the motherboard via a 3-pin power connector which supports RPM monitoring.

Heatsink Top:
The heatsink is really just a little slice of material, but one that hopefully has pretty good performance characteristics. Each of the aluminum fins has scalloped surface and is slightly bent away from the center to ensure good turbulence, and airflow. Fins are spaced 2-2.5mm apart and are typically 1mm thick. The clip sits in a cut away section of about 42mm in diameter, and 6mm depth. Note that the copper core is centered, whereas the fulcrum is not (as it should be).

Side A:
The clip requires a screwdriver and at least has guides on either side to help prevent the tool from slipping out of the small catch. It's easy to engage, and holds the unit in place with a fair amount of pressure.
Side B:
At 24mm tall, including the fan, the Arkua 648N-6B is one of the smallest heatsinks to come across our desk. The fins are spaced about 2.5mm apart and are slightly tapered.
Heatsink Base:
The base finish of the 648N-6B is pretty good - the base is machined flat, though there are some machining marks that can be felt if you draw a fingernail over the surface. The base is undercut 2mm to allow clearance for the socket cam arm.
