Titan TTC-D4T Heatsink Review

With the range of copper heatsinks, fan heatsinks, pin-based heatsink and everything short of cold fusion cooled heatsinks entering store shelves these days is always a bit of a surprise to see a good ol' simple design like the TTC-D4T. Based around a rather uncluttered fin design, and pared with a 25mm thick 60mm fan, the TTC-D4T caught our eye on a recent trip the computer store.

The cooling system is reliant upon twelve 32mm tall fins that are 26mm in width. Except for the clip channel which splits the heatsink into two fin sections the heatsink is one solid unit. It kind of reminded us of the rather well performing Thermaltake Volcano II.

The fan looks like a Delta from the top, but is actually a single ball bearing model made by a company called Evercool. Titan is rather generous as heatsink manufacturers go as they include a small syringe with 1cc of silver-based thermal compound!

Designed for:

AMD Athlon, Duron, K6-2. Intel FC-PGA, PGA. VIA Cyrix III.

  • Model: Titan TTC-D4T
  • Fan Dim: 25x60x60mm, 12V, 0.27A (Evercool Brand)
  • FHS Dimensions: 65x62x60mm (H/W/D)
  • Material: Extruded aluminum, black anodized
  • Made & Sold by:
    Titan Heatsinks
  • Cost: $18USD(EST)

The syringe would make anyone but a true overclocker turn their head and wonder what kind of silvery substance this might be. The substance looks a little bit too shiny when compared to other silver compounds we have in the lab, which makes me wonder it if might just be aluminum based. We'll have to do a test in the future to find out for sure what the performance characteristics of this thermal compound are.
