Information on Frostytech's test methodology is available here.
The Heatsink Fan:
The 70x70x15mm fan has a thermistor located just below the motor which determines the speed of the impeller; 3050-6000RPM. Airflow ranges from 21-41CFM, and unfortunately the Delta fan is not protected with a wire grill. A 3-pin cable connects to the motherboard fan header, and supports RPM monitoring.

Heatsink Top:
The stacked aluminum fins are plated to enable solderability with the copper base plate. Each fin measures 29x29mm, and there is a 5mm plenum below the fan itself.

Heatsink Side A:
The copper base of the Ajigo MF043044 measures 6mm thick for good heat spreading. The stacked aluminum fins are soldered to the copper, so the thermal resistance should be lower than if adhesive was used. Each fin is 0.4mm thick and spaced a standard 1.0mm from the next.

Heatsink Side B:
A stock K8 clip mechanism is used on this heatsink. Once the metal tabs lock into the retention frame, rotating a cam applies the necessary force. the plastic arm also has a lock which engages to the frame. This broke off on the unit that was tested, but will have no effect on test results.

Heatsink Base:
A punched copper plate is an inexpensive way to produce a flat surface. The 6mm thick copper base has a sanded finish which translates into a surface roughness of ~16 microinches. The surface is flat in the y-axis, and very slightly convex in the x-axis (as looking at the image at left).
