Intel Stock 3.06GHz Heatsink From All Angles
The Fan:
The standard Intel fan is hung from the top, partially to protect it during shipping, and partially because it apparently runs quieter in this configuration. The heatsink uses the familiar plastic cam levers to engage the plastic motherboard HSRM. The fan draws in 0.21A and is made by Sanyo Denki. The fan connects via a standard three-pin motherboard header and supports RPM signals.

Heatsink Top:
The extruded heatsink is very simple in construction when we look at it from above. There are a series of cross cuts along the outer edges to help exhaust air at the sides, and very little else.

Side A:
The base measures 12mm thick, the fins 1.3mm thick. Each of the fins are spaced 1.2mm apart and stand roughly 23mm in height. The fan and fan shroud are one piece, so if the fan dies the heatsink is of no use.

Side B:
From the side we can see nine 3mm wide cross cuts in the body to help exhaust air from the heatsink.

Heatsink Base:

The base is roughly finished, and came originally with a metal thermal interface pad. While fairly flat, the sanded finish means you will need to use a good quality thermal compound with this base. The metal pad is only good for one application.
