On first glance the Titan doesn't seem to fair too well against the other coolers. However, considering that they are all performance heatsinks, a ninth place position with a temperature of 55 degrees on the small copper die template is good for an average rating.

While the Titan is not a high-end, or even a performance-class heatsink, it is capable of offering average performance which is helpful when faced with a sea of OEM grade heatsinks.

In the rise above ambient scores the Titan manages to move up a notch or so. What is really impressive is the score on the large copper die template. It would seem that there is very distinct possibility that this heatsink was originally designed for heatspreader based processors. The results from the large copper die template would seem to indicate really good performance characteristics on those larger surface areas.

Conclusions:

The Titan TTC-D4T ranks among other heatsinks as an average performer. Were we in a store that only sold OEM heatsinks the D4T would be a good option. Its' cooling performance appears to be slightly less than that of the mini copper orb on the small copper die template.

The base is roughly finished and could do with some good lapping to achieve higher results. Apart from that the heatsink offers fairly average performance with moderate amounts of fan noise. The clip on the other hand is very stiff and one aspect of the D4T we did not like whatsoever. It is one thing for a heatsink to require a screw driver to clip the heatsink in place. It is quite another thing entirely for that heatsink to require screw driver and still remain difficult to clip into position.

Still, its' average performance position the D4T well above more generic OEM heatsinks so it is a good option for budget-minded systems.
