We didn't even expect the Tocools Novasonic to perform so well in the initial results. It is worth noting that the Thermalright AX-7 uses a 38mm Delta fan and is so far the loudest heatsink we have measured to date. Let's jump ahead and see what the final performance results say.

The Tocools Novasonic is a new entry into the list of reference heatsinks and one which has broken into the performance level with relative ease. While the Coolink is about the same in performance, the Thermalright AX-7 is the odd ball out. The AX-7 was tested with a 38mm thick 80mm fan that would have made even the most inept heatsinks perform well - but let's not get off topic.

Tocools have made a very strong showing with the Novasonic except for the clip. The clip used on the model we received for testing does the job, but it really doesn't seem to be a very commercially viable design, or all that user friendly. With such a large heatsink as this, Tocools would be strongly urged to adopt a clip which is slightly more refined, perhaps even utilizing all three tabs on the socket.

While the Tocools Novasonic is already a very capable performance cooler, I can't help but look forward and wonder what an all copper, or copper-aluminum hybrid of this heatsink will perform like. The "Pyramidal Inside Cutting" technology as Tocools call it is still in the early stages of development, and future iterations will undoubtedly usher in further performance improvements. For the moment, whether it be stock cooling, or overclocking, the Tocools Novasonic should do the job admirably - and for a relatively new company that is an impressive accomplishment.
