"Upon hearing the word Seagate, many readers will instinctively think about hard drives and mass storage devices. Seagate Technologies Inc. (NYSE SEG) is the parent company of Seagate Software. They are the company known for manufacturing hard drives and most commonly confused with Seagate Software. Seagate Technologies is located in Scotts Valley California, in the heart of Silicon Valley. Seagate Software is headquartered in Vancouver British Columbia, with offices across North America, UK, Australia and South East Asia. Seagate Software is in the Business Intelligence industry. More specifically, Seagate Software is a data mining and data warehousing business. Their goal is effective and efficient knowledge and data management through industry leading reporting and data management software. ...To say that the work environment as Seagate Software is very relaxed and welcoming is a big understatement. There are no sick days at Seagate Software. If you are sick, then you don't come in to work, simple as that. There are no scheduled breaks and lunch time is when you feel hungry. People do not wear suits and ties to work, they wear jeans and t-shirts, shorts and sweatshirts, and this includes the president of the company as well! At both Vancouver Offices, Seagate Software employees who find time within their busy schedules can work out at the corporate fitness facility or play fooseball, shoot pool or table tennis. Bring your own skewers and you can BBQ on the roof top deck, which overlooks downtown Vancouver. No food? No problem. The vending machines at Seagate Software are practically free and that doesn't mean just pop and candy bars - it includes frozen dinners, Hagen Daaz ice cream bars and all the tea, hot chocolate and gourmet coffee you can drink. There is even a big screen television dedicated to Sony Playstation and Nintendo 64."
