"'Peer-to-peer' (P2P) is possibly the latest media-induced buzzword to hit the scene. No doubt countless start-ups and business models will be built around P2P. Some of these companies will find a niche and survive, but most will not. Many of these companies want to come together with committees and form some kind of standard(s) for P2P-based technologies. But is this really something that is necessary? Personally, I don't think so, and the remainder of this article outlines why I believe this."
