"There I was, peacefully reading my e-mail. I was reading the "Slashdot Daily Headline Mailer" and then I almost fell out of my chair...
Roblimo posted a piece titled "FCC to Rule on Request to Limit Recording From TV" (there are a lot of good comments there).
Now I had not intended to publish another editorial quite so soon; after all I posted "Rocky Road (NOT ice cream)" only yesterday. I had planned to spend tonight benchmarking away. Unfortunately the FCC comment period ends on the 7th, so if I wanted to contribute in any way to help stop this madness I had to act quickly.
The Slashdot story was in reaction to an "Inter@ctive Week" story published on September 3 about the FCC's forthcoming ruling on the battle over home taping rights between the MPAA and the home recording industry."
