"I have to admit in front of you guys that last year when AMD introduced Athlon I didn't think that it would be so successful. Why? At that time I was aware that AMD has good engineers, but I didn't consider that they are capable of massive advertising. I tested Athlon and I liked the processor but I thought that Intel will come up with something new. I also have to admit that I was an Intel fan, mainly because I didn't like K6 too much. I was quite surprised to see that AMD was able to pass the motherboards shortage and to release on schedule the new Thunderbird and Duron. They also moved to socket versions quicker than Intel. I was wrong and right now I even plan to buy for my home computer a Thunderbird. Another problem of AMD was the motherboards chipset. But with VIA's latest KT133 I think that this problem finally came to an end. We have the chance to review in this article Abit KT7. After recent KA7 success, Abit guys decided to try even more and they design a socket A motherboard based on KT133."
