Asus A7V motherboard - FrostyTech.com Asus A7V motherboard
Thu Sep 07, 2000 | 6:42P| PermaLink
"The A7V was of much controversy when it hit the market. The A7V was the first KT133 motherboard to hit the market with the all important multiplier adjustments. The multiplier adjustments allow the user to overclock an unlocked Duron or Athlon to much higher levels. The controversy behind it was, some A7Vs were shipping with the multiplier adjustments and some were not. As it turns out, it seems all A7Vs without on-board audio have the multiplier adjustments. It appears now that almost all A7Vs out in the market are without audio and thus have the multiplier adjustments. This could soon change however, with AMD threatening to change the pins to lock the CPU multiplier. Nevertheless, if you are purchasing the A7V you will still want to make sure your A7V has the multiplier adjustments, unless of course on-board sound is your thing."
