Thermal Transtech International Corporation have also released an innovative LED light source heatsink for loads of between 30W - 50W. LED illumination is a growth industry for computer heatsink manufacturers that have been faced with decreasing demand due to electrically efficient CPU design envelopes. LED lights on the other hand are at the nascent stage when the technology is affordable for broad adoption, whilst still finding its feet as LED makers boost light output and balance that with extra heat production which shorten's the LED lifetime. Hence high light output architectural lighting requires large heatsinks.
Here's a quick glance at the new TTIC 30-50W LED light source heatpipe based thermal solution for high light output LED lighting devices. It's based on existing CPU heatsink techniques, but designed for passive operation.
