"Well, the Voodoo4 4500 is 3dfx's pawn in the low cost sector of the video card market. It uses one VSA-100 chip clocked at 166MHz and as the VSA-100 can draw two pixels per clock with one texture per pixel, the board has a fill rate of 333M Pixels/sec and possessing 2 pipelines each churning out one texture per pixel. In comparison, the GeForce2 MX has 2 pipelines, each able to churn 2 textures per pixel. The MX is capable of 350M Pixels/Sec and 700M Texels/Sec, giving it a significant advantage over the Voodoo4 4500, well at least on paper. We chuck the new Voodoo boy in to the deep end to see if it sinks or swims..."
