"It's been a month since we last updated our Detonator3 database. Since then,
two sets of drivers have been leaked: Versions 7.17 and 6.49 (in that
order). We don't think you should dismiss the 6.49 set because the version
number is lower. They appear to be the more recent of the two, and as far as
we're concerned, they are far more mature than the
"not-quite-ready-for-primetime" DirectX 8-capable set. As usual, we tested
the Windows 98/ME 6.49 and 7.17 leaked sets with three different NVIDIA
boards sitting on three different platforms. We also redid our 6.47 tests
with DirectX 8 installed. As a bonus, we ended this article with a short
review of VisionTek's very fast GeForce2 Ultra."
