"During the summer, when I would turn the air conditioner on, the lights
would dim, my monitor would flicker a bit, and I could actually hear my fans
slow down. It was not cool to say the least. I was also having problems with
my monitor jittering all the time. I thought it was a bad monitor, so I got
it RMA'd. That didn't help.
The very day I plugged the APC UPS in, the monitor jittering went away. I
was dumbfounded. Obviously the power fluctuations didn't go away, but they
were no longer hitting my computer."
