"Quake III Arena runs fast on every graphics accelerator but definitely the fastest with a Nvidia GeForce2 Ultra based video card. Mustering a 56.9 FPS with Hiqh Quality settings in 1600x1200 is a great achievement and this is at 32bit too!. However the question is: How many out there actually play in 1600x1200? How many have monitors that can go up to 1600x1200?
3DMark 2000 score is 5064, not the best around but remember this is on a low-end Pentium III processor. At 600MHz the 3DMark2000 score jumps to around 6000. Running the CPU at 667MHz takes the 3DMark 2000 score well over 6000.
I was going to include VideoMark 2000 test scores but VideoMark 2000 would look up every time during the memory transfer tests when using the Creative Labs GeForce2 Ultra. I've tried this with other cards and the test finishes without problems... using the Nvidia version 6.47 drivers (beta). As the driver revision is a beta release I won't go deeper into this problem for now."
