XIGMATEK's Engineering team has released a dark nickel plated version of the HDT-S1283 heatsink called the... wait for it.... "Xigmatek Dark Knight-S1283". The heatsink is the newest "silent avenger of today’s overheating CPU’s", and features black transparent LED fan and HDT technology, but otherwise shares all the same specs as the previous iteration.

Should you buy the Xigmatek Dark Knight-S1283 heatsink over the vanilla HDT-S1283 version? I'd have to say no, every nickel plated heatsink Frostytech has tested has performed with a bit of a handicap compared to the pure aluminum, pure copper, uncoated heatsink model. Remember, aesthetics don't improve cooling performance one bit.
