"Our popular socket A K7VZA (ATX) and K7VZM (microATX) boards will soon be
available with the VIA KT133A chipset to support the Athlon K7 processor
with FSB speeds up to 266MHz. Both boards will support K7 processors up to
1.5GHz. The VIA KT133A chipset (VT8363A North Bridge and VT82C686A/B South
Bridge) also supports ATA/100 and AGP 4x. and comes with AC 97 audio codec.
The K7VZA has 3 DIMM slots to take up to 1.5GB SDRAM, as well as 5 PCI
slots, an AGP slot and an AMR slot. The K7VZM has 2 DIMM slots for a maximum
of 1.0GB SDRAM, and has 2 PCI slots, AGP and AMR slots. Each model has 4 USB
ports with 2 USB connectors as headers on board. Dual PCI interfaces support
4 IDE dvices.
SiS 635 and 735 DDR chipsets released / Ken 5:49am GMT
SiS has announced its first DDR support chips, the SiS635 and SiS735. The
SiS635 will support Intel Pentium III and
Tualatin processors, while the SiS735 will support AMD Athlon and Duron
CPUs. The chipsets have a multi-thread I/O link for
an improved data transmission rate between peripherals. Mass production of
the SiS635 and 735 chipsets will commence next
year in February and March respectively. The chips are made using the 0.18
micron process technology."
