"The old saying was "No one ever got fired for choosing IBM." More recently, "Microsoft" has replaced "IBM" in the adage. Many people have been wondering about relying on Microsoft, given the mediocre quality of its products and support. Now we have the U.S. District Court's findings that Microsoft is a monopoly in its relevant market, and it abused its monopoly position to the detriment of its customers. This development should lead us to reconsider the extent we rely on Microsoft and its products."
