The real measure of the Surface 1030's worth is gaming performance. Realistically, buying a new mousing surface is not going to make you a great Quake 3 player. If you are already a good player, then getting this piece of gear will complement your game with quicker mouse response and better tracking. On the other hand, if you are getting your butt kicked by the bots on I Can Win difficulty, don't expect to suddenly be turning in Thresh-like performances.
