G256 Whistler Preview - FrostyTech.com G256 Whistler Preview
Wed Dec 27, 2000 | 5:23P| PermaLink
...Whistler is finally in Beta and it appears Microsoft is at last on the right track to produce a 32-bit OS with the power of NT and the Multi-Media and Gaming-stable features of Windows 9x. Whistler versions come as; Whistler Personal, Whistler Professional and Whistler Advanced Server. This article will deal with the Version aimed at Home Users, Whistler Personal. The purpose of this article is not to nit-pick or analyze Whistler, nor will there be any discussion of Bugs or other problems in Whistler Beta 1. Discussions of problems with Whistler Beta 1 belong on the Beta Team Web Site and the Beta Tester News Groups. Beta Software belongs to the Developer... NOT to the Beta Tester, a fact far too many Users seem to ignore. Call me "Old Fashioned"... that's just fine-thank-you-for-the-compliment. I happen to believe that when you give your word, as in signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement, or a EULA...then you should honor that promise, not start "leaking" the Software to the Public so you can look good to your buddies or get more traffic on your Web Site.
