In the last year of this millennium, we have seen a large step in the right direction in the way of PC video graphics chipsets. Manufacturers have started to step away from shallow color depth and raw speed. Consumers are starting to realize the benefits of having solid game play in high-resolution deep color gaming. Where those supply and demand curves intersect, lies the Radeon.
In mid-September, I took a gamble and purchased the flagship video card from a company with a not-so-tasty support history. I purchased a retail ATi Radeon 64mb DDR with VIVO (video-in video-out). Comprising of 1/4th the total cost of the system, a host of new technologies, and the cost of "restocking fees", I could have lost a large amount of money if I wasn't happy. But I had done my homework, and support was on its way; ATi had learned its lesson from the Rage 128 fiasco.
