EPoX has been pretty fast recently especially when AMD started coming out with their successful range of Athlon processors. With their first in the market KX133 chipset board, the EPoX 7KXA, has certainly created much awareness for their brand. Now with their first in the market KT133A chipset board which to be accessed later, the EPoX 8KTA3, would be another interesting one to look out for.
Although some KT133 boards have the BIOS option for selecting FSB of 133Mhz DDR and above but it is not officially approved. With the new Thunderbirds are going for 266Mhz FSB, therefore VIA need to come up with a new chipset called the KT133A which has almost the same features as the KT133 chipset except that it now officially supports 266Mhz FSB. VIA KT133A can be viewed as the transition period to the DDR platform as it offers the support for PC-133 SDRAM and acts as a bridge to close up the performance gap between SDR and DDR platforms.
