True to its design, the Dell Inspiron 4000 looks like a combination of ultra-portability (it's a three-spindle notebook so comes with two removable media bays with one booked by the battery) and high-performance features (Pentium III 750MHz, 128MB RAM, ATI 3D graphic controller chipset, DVD-ROM drive, 14.1-inch TFT screen). It even weighs light (2.8kg with CD-ROM module). This puts the Inspiron 4000 somewhere between the ultra-portables (12.1-inch TFT notebooks with slim waistlines) and the desktop replacements (15-inch TFT notebooks with everything packed inside). A hybrid of sorts? Perhaps.
