For the past few months, Nvidia along with their Geforce2 MX graphics chip have ruled the low-end video card market. From what I see, it seems to be a fantastic performer and is priced just perfect for the gamer on a budget. Nvidia's only real competition was the 3dfx V4 4500 but now that Nvidia has bought 3dfx, they seem to have total control over the video card market.
Roughly 3 months ago, STMicroelectronics turned some heads when they unveiled the newest member of their famous "PowerVR" family of graphics accelerator chipsets, the KYRO. At that time, this chipset was slated to be a Geforce2 MX killer but due to problems with the development of drivers and bugs that still needed to be fixed, first batches of KYRO based video cards didn't pop up until last month. So who owns the low-end gaming crown? Read the review to find out.
