"IBM's AS/400 will continue to be the bulletproof platform of choice for very high-end databases, Java and Internet functionality and, starting next year, it will be the Domino/Notes platform to beat. Windows, at least for the next few years, will continue to be the desktop used by the vast majority of the world's computer users. UNIX will hold its current position as high-end database provider, but UNIX's market share will hurt most of all. Novell's NDS might just end up being the glue for all this stuff."
