"DDR SDRAM is probably the biggest threat RDRAM is currently facing. With
it's open source licensing, great compatibility with current SDRAM, and the
enormous support from most of the leading memory manufacturers, DDR SDRAM is
poised to give RDRAM it's fatal blow. Personally I'm putting my money on DDR
SDRAM in this fight, and it appears as though VIA is too.
RDRAM has been the only true "High Performance" solution for Intel's CPUs,
that is until now. The new VIA Apollo Pro266 Chipset is looking to take over
RDRAM's once coveted title. If it succeeds RDRAM and Rambus could be in a
whole lot of trouble..."
