With DDR on the horizon you might be saying to yourself, why in the world do we need the new KT133A? We haven't had much luck with the KT133 and now they want us to buy a revised version of a weak overclocking chipset? However, VIA knows that many people wont be willing to part with their SDRAM in exchange for DDR ram modules. Why would you? For $40 you can buy 128MB of PC133 ram, which is practically 1/2 price of the latest DDR Ram modules. I've owned several motherboards based on the KT133 and my experience is that 110FSB is a dream with generic ram. 107FSB is about average according to many happy/unhappy owners of these boards. Nevertheless, any time you can squeeze out more than what you've paid for always brings a little bit of satisfaction to your heart. However, overclockers always want more than what they paid for, who doesn't. This time, VIA is very accommodating by providing a chipset that will have you tweaking with your bios and memory settings for hours. This is my first experience with the new chipset so I decided to choose a motherboard maker famous for reliability, stability, and a fair price.
