We were first introduced to the Pentium 4, by way of the Willamette core, about a year ago at the Spring 2000 Intel Developer Forum. At the time the processor was running at 1.5Ghz, same as it is today. This new micro-architecture and processor are the start of the new Pentium 4 processor family and could be the next step Intel needed to get back on its feet, and take the industry back from AMD. The Pentium 4 processor features a new micro-architecture, the first since the Pentium Pro in 1995. Which is a large leap forward for the defending king of the processor industry, Intel. The Pentium 4 is the dubbed a K7 chip because of its new micro-architecture. Today we will bring you the inside scoop on the new micro-architecture, the new NetBurst Architecture, and the first IA-32 processor to take advantage of all these new features. Let's get going...
