If you think about it, we are used to subscribing to newspapers, cable services, etc. Why not to websites? Perhaps we will see large conglomerates gobble up hundreds of sites at a clip then market them as one big subscription offer. This is not as far-fetched as it sounds, since cable companies do that now with the channels they offer. An example would be if Disney were to purchase up two-hundred channels, or websites, then charge fifty dollars a month for broadband access as well as subscriptions to those sites. The future looks to be subscription-based websites.
