Evergreen Technologies is a company that BrokenPixel has been working with on and off now for nearly a year. They still don't let us keep the review units they send us, but we don't care much about that anyway. We just have fun playing around with all the new hardware... Awhile back we reviewed the 20GB fireLINE HotDrive and found that the drive performed reasonably well for an external firewire storage solution. Since that review, Evergreen has upgraded the BIOS on the drives. We were told that this BIOS/firmware update would significantly increase performance of the drive so we had Evergreen send us a newer 20GB fireLINE to compare results. But before we dive into the benchmarks, let me briefly discuss the setup and installation of this product.
