You may be wondering who ST Microelectronics are, so before we get further here's some more information on them. ST Microelectronics has been around for many years now, and is truly a global company. Starting off in France, they have been able to branch out into over several countries around the world and have a huge customer list for their chips. Some of the better-known clients of ST are Nokia, Motorola, Seagate Technology, and Philips. ST's semiconductor is huge, so it's only fitting that they'd be in a prime position to acquire the right to build upon PowerVR technology and start competing on the lower end of the scale with nVIDIA and ATI.
