When the bottom of a mouse is just a featureless slab of plastic, and yet it works, you've just got to open it up and see why. That's what I did with the mouse that comes with Wacom's Graphire graphics tablet. The Graphire also gives you a pressure-sensitive double-ended pen, some rather groovy driver software, and genuine graphics tablet functions for a relatively minuscule price.
