The five finalists are the Acer TravelMate 352TE (for the 350 series), Sony VAIO PCG-Z505GA (for the Z505 series), IBM ThinkPad X20-31A (for the X series), Fujitsu LifeBook S-4546 (for the 4540 series) and Toshiba Portege 7200CT (for the Portege 7200 series). During the nomination phase, other series included were the Compaq Presario series, Hewlett-Packard's OmniBook series, Dell's Latitude series, Gateway's Solo 5300 series and the Sharp PC-AX series. Though these are very popular brands in the ultraportable category, many voters saw certain inherent unique qualities (like price, product design, bundled accessories and marketed brand image) in the five finalists.
