"We've all seen how powerful a force so-called "copycat syndrome" is in the United States. Its influence undoubtedly exists as seen in everything from tragic high school shootings on down to adolescent girls sporting Brittany Spears' ensembles. Now dot-com copycats are following each other's lead in a race to lay off workers.
When it's been proven time and again that mass layoffs devastate the morale of the lucky few who remain employed, thereby jeopardizing company productivity and profitability, we realize the impetuosity of the decision to let go of valuable, trained employees."
