The entire Linksys Instant Wireless LAN kit costs S$1,027 (S$659 for the Access Point, S$269 for the WLAN NIC PCMCIA card and S$99 for the PCI adapter card). It is of course relatively cheaper than the 3Com AirConnect kit (S$3,140 when last reviewed) and thus deserves a closer look if you're keen on getting a wireless network for your home or office.
It is also easy to set up, utilising a USB connection to configure the Access Point. Though many of our peers were skeptical with regards to Linksys bundling their PCMCIA NIC cards with driver installation diskettes instead of on CD-ROM discs, we think this is actually a blessing in disguise, as many notebook computers (especially ultra-portables) come with only floppy diskette drives.
