The HX45 Case

"The first version of the HX45 (which can be identified by the lack of the 'A' at the end of its model name) was the first non-cheap case I used to build a PC around. I remember opening it up, and finding sharp edges and other hazards to be the exception, rather than the norm! It was safe to say, I was quite pleased with that case. Well, times have changed, and just as the Voodoo 2 is no longer the king at 3D graphics, there are different standards by which I judge a case now. As I have mentioned earlier, I expect a case not to be hazardous. Long, sharp edges where one has multiple opportunities to lacerate one's self are signs of a case I won't touch. Just in case you are wondering, the main differences between the HX45 and the HX45A, AFAIK, are that the HX45 has a one-piece U-shaped cover, while the HX45A has removable side panels; the HX45 has a different PSU than the later version; and there are a few layout differences in the chassis of the case. However, to me, it seems that the HX45A is easier to modify than the earlier version. I'll get onto that later, though."
