With all the hype about the new Athlon boards with DDR support, the market for the socketed Pentium III and Celeron boards has been rather quiet. The Intel 815EP chipset on the Easton 2 (D815EPEA2) mainboard is starting to hit the market, which should be very promising for most consumers. The Easton 2 also is available with the 815E chipset as well under the D815EEA2 SKU. Also, as equally promising is the 810E2 chipset on the Cayman 3 mainboard (D810E2CA3), which is on the budget side. On the Easton 2 board I tested (SKU D815EPEA2 - which has the 815EP chipset), the 815EP chipset lacks integrated i752 video (which was on the 815e and most mainstream users disabled in favor of a high performance graphics accelerator), yet has additional features to compensate, all for a lower price than the Easton 1 (D815EEA). These boards are not aimed towards the overclocking users; rather they are directed towards system builders and normal users who want a stable and fast platform
