"A buffer underrun occurs when the stream of data to the CDRW is interrupted. This interruption may occur when several applications are loaded, putting a strain on the harddrives transfer. Manufacturers first solved this roblem by applying generous buffers with each drive. These buffers,
ranging from 2MB to even 8MB, temporarily store data coming from the harddisk. So, when the direct transfer from the hard-disk is broken, the buffer would be able to transfer data from the buffer to the CDRW. This was decent, but it was still possible to get underruns. How would CDRW manufacturers deal with this incessant problem?"
