"Trickle-down economics is the theory that we get richer by having more rich people. There is also a trickle-down effect of technology. You see, somewhere out there is a ratio of people who "know" computers versus those that are casual users.
Look at how the OEMs are now starting to push Nvidia, even though it has taken some time to happen. About two and a half years ago, Nvidia grabbed the review site consensus title of "fastest consumer video card" and kept it until today. Note that Nvidia, not for lack of trying, did not accomplish this by spouting the "we are great" PR fluff that every other company releases."
