Although nowhere near the 3.8ns speeds of video card memory, system RAM doesn't need to be as fast. In an attempt to build up my own frustration, I noticed that in spite of it all the modules still seem to be rated at CAS2, as shown by the C2 on the lower left. Oh, and OCZ claims these to be 16Mx64 parts but I could find no such data at Infineon's site. Clearly there's some confusion here. On the other hand, this could just be OCZ creating a very good stick of RAM. Keep in mind that memory modules alone don't account for performance completely. Resistor caps and PCB also play a role, which is why third-party Micron sticks usually yield lower results than those sold by Crucial, although the chips are identical.
