AMD has ruled the budget performance world for quite some time now, and some may have expected AMD's first foray into the dual processor market to be one that also catered to the budget performance field. With the 760MP, that appears unlikely. Very unlikely. What could have been the savior for low-end and mid-range SMP may remain out of reach for all but those with the deepest pockets. Intel's SMP offerings aren't exactly budget, either. The budget SMP market that was created with the likes of the Abit BP6 and
Celeron doesn't seem to have anywhere to go. Before we focus all our attention on what may ultimately end up being a high-end solution, perhaps we should step back and think about what we can really afford in the SMP space.
