Overclocking the XP Article - FrostyTech.com Overclocking the XP Article

: Overclocking is a sickness. Ask almost any PC enthusiast if there was anything in their system they'd want bigger or faster, and 9 out of 10 would say their CPU. The CPU or Central Processing Unit has come a long way since overclocking had become a trend only a few short years ago. No longer are system tweakers looking for 5, 10 or even 20mhz gains to add a few measly frames-per-second to their favorite shoot-em-up, or take a few minutes from their Seti@Home work unit time… but massive 200, 300 and even 400mhz explosions! Some even go to the point where their PC case sounds like a 747 Jumbo landing with all the fans and other active cooling components spinning at up to 10,000rpm, all just to keep their CPU cool enough to attain the desired results. Insanity? In some cases yes… but with some moderation it can be quite an experience that actually pays off in the end.
