Not everyone needs an extremely high performance PC. Most people don't need a fancy 3D graphics card as a large percentage of PC users use their PC's for Internet browsing and simple office applications. Don't believe me?
Just go in to a large retailer; you will find that 70%+ of all computers sold use "shared memory video". And I am talking brand names like Compaq and HP here! You will find all sorts of shared memory motherboards in OEM "whitebox" systems as well...
