I've had the privelage of reviewing quite a few DFI motherboards of the past few months and what I've noticed is that they have totally changed their gameplan. DFI has always had a layed back approach to producing motherboards. Their pieces were often a huge hit with system integrators and OEM's since these boards were created with them in mind. These motherboards were simple and didn't require all the fancy features found on products from the major companies that people like us see everyday. The AK75-EC is part of the new trend that's been going on at DFI and the goal for them is to meet the needs of the"performance-users".
