The KT266 was launched a few months ago, somewhat later than ALi’s solution and more importantly AMD’s (as AMD lead the way). The Apollo KT266 chipset did not get off with the smoothest of starts, (as a lot of new chipsets seem not to), plagued with poor performance that was later addressed with new chipset revisions and BIOS upgrades. Today however the KT266 is seen in a much more positive frame of mind. All past issues have been addressed by VIA even though the KT266 is not as mature as the AMD 760 chipset.
