"An overclocked, high-performance, quiet PC. A myth? I think not (at least, I hope not), because that's what I'm going to be attempting to build over this series of articles. My PC, like many of yours I'm sure, is more than just a flashy games and web-surfing machine. I use it to watch movies, to listen to music, and I have to sleep next to it if I'm downloading a file overnight. Who wants to listen to classical music with a hurricaine in the background? Who wants to watch a quiet movie, with fantastic ambient effects (I'm thinking of Crouching Tiger here :) when there's a constant, annoying whirr in the background? Who wants to be kept up all night because that darn thing in the corner won't let them get to sleep??!! Not me for sure, so with all this in mind, I'm looking to change the cooling on my machine."
