A few common questions that I am often asked from people about to build a new system are: "What kind of DDRRAM should I buy?" "Which manufacturer is better?" "Is it really worth getting PC2400 or PC2700 if I plan on overclocking?" I have usually told people that the difference in performance is very little, as long as they choose RAM from top-tier manufacturers. Still, there are always those few hard core nuts that are willing to spend a premium for PC2700 DDRRAM in the hopes of be able to push their system just a little bit further. In order to help you, the consumer, get a better perspective on the performance difference between PC2100 and PC2700 I acquired samples from Crucial and TwinMOS respectively.
