"The Audiophile 2496 is as you can hear from the name a Soundcard with full 24bit 96KHz support, aimed at a wide range of applications; from multi-track recording to computer-based home theatre set-ups. The soundcard is based on the well-known "IC Ensemble Envy24 I/O" controller chip, which is used in many semi/pro-soundcards. It supports all common computer platforms and has good support in most available music software. The card is fitted with 2 analog inputs and outputs (1 stereo pair each) and also features digital In-Outs. All I/O's has full support for up to 24bit 96kHz playback and recording. Like most Pro-level soundcards it supports full duplex and has multi-client support (which means that more than one program can access the soundcard at the same time)."
