Freedom is something most of us have and something we all want but unfortunately freedom has been deprived from all those people wanting a P4 system without having to pay through the back of their teeth for the memory. Since the i850 uses dual-RDRAM channels the second and most obvious upgrade you will need to undertake when making the conversion to a new Pentium 4 system is the purchase of RD-RAM. RD-RAM was around three times more expensive than SDR/DDR-RAM when the P4 was first launched, but what makes it even more expensive is the “dual-RDRAM” part. The i850 uses RD-RAM in pairs so you will have to purchase two RD-RAM modules. There is only one way to make this expensive memory upgrade cheaper, if you wish to have a total of 128MB RD-RAM then you would be required purchase two 64MB RD-RAM modules.
